The Thyroid’s Role in The Body

The thyroid is one of the most complex glands in the human body and a vital component of the endocrine system. Responsible for hormone creation, secretion, and all-around homeostasis, things can go awry when the thyroid isn’t functioning properly.

For example, the thyroid controls the metabolic rate, brain development, and even muscular function. Who knew that the small gland tucked along your lower neck could have some much power?
